Current Position and what you do: Job Training Coordinator. I work with students who receive IEP services on finding and retaining competitive employment.
Proudest Professional accomplishment: I recently heard that one of the first students I placed bought a house for his family! I really love hearing how former students start in entry-level jobs and work their way up to line cook, traveling construction laborer, even part-time to full time. It is so thrilling to see employment bring out the very best in these guys and unleash their potential!
Describe your values and how they inform your career: I really believe in the power of the right match in job development. I have had so many jobs in my life and I was honestly terrible at some. We all have the capacity to be an impact member if we’re in the right place to highlight our skills and strengths. I also believe in taking time to listen and understand the people we interact with, and doing so without judgment. In doing so, we can fix a lot of problems and help a lot of people.
Who are you outside of work: I am a mom of two kids. As a result, I drive a lot! I love cooking. Pandemic led me to try out gardening too. I love Cleveland sports, music, and theater.
