The ECCC Story
An "untapped workforce."
That is what we at the Employment Collaborative of Cuyahoga County like to call the talent pool we work with. This talent pool consists of people with barriers to employment, primarily individuals with disabilities.
People with disabilities typically are unemployed at rates double or even triple the rest of the working-age population. The gap has shrunk in recent years, but there is still a lot of work to be done, and that is why the Employment Collaborative of Cuyahoga County was created -- to help fix this disparity.
We created this collaborative group of Employment Service Agencies in 2014 to not only help those seeking to find a job, but for those local businesses in Cuyahoga County looking to find good, qualified, and loyal help. People with disabilities fit that bill but are often at a disadvantage when it comes to building social networks. The Collaborative is meant to bridge that gap for the individuals we work with and the businesses we seek out to serve.

The History of the ECCC
The Growth of the ECCC
Are there other Employment Collaboratives?
We believe The Employment Collaborative of Cuyahoga County is the first of its kind in Ohio and quite possibly in the United States, however, it certainly has not been the last. Since the inception of the ECCC in 2014 there has been steady growth of other iterations of Employment Collaboratives in surrounding counties in Ohio and even nationally. Below are some of the counties in Ohio that have started their own Employment Collaboratives. If you might be from a county that does not have an Employment Collaborative and would like to learn more on creating one, feel free to contact us.
How is the ECCC Funded?
The ECCC's events are fully funded by sponsors and donations from local businesses in Cuyahoga County and the surrounding Northeast Ohio area that believe in our mission of enhancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
